“New Shoes” (acoustic demo)
Got my new shoes on and I’m ready to go
Brighter than lightning after it explodes
Got my new shoes on and I’m ready to go
Louder than thunder rapping at your door
Got my new shoes on and I’m ready to go
Wild hair, wild eyes, and wild soul
Got my new shoes on and I’m ready to go
Spitting gravel off to parts unknown
The world ain’t ready for a love like this
The world ain’t ready for our Big Bang kiss
The world ain’t ready for a love like this
The world ain’t ready for our Big Bang kiss
The world ain’t ready for a love like this
The world ain’t ready for our Big Bang kiss
The world ain’t ready for a love like this
The world ain’t ready for our Big Bang kiss
You’re the world…
Got my news shoes on and I’m ready to go
Jumping big high putting on a show
Got my news shoes on and I’m ready to go
Flying through the air until you told me no
Your eyes
Your hair
Your lips
Your smile
Your nose
Your chin
Your cheeks
Your style
All can’t compare to my new shoes
All can’t compare to my new shoes
All can’t compare to my new shoes
All can’t compare to my new shoes
Got my new shoes on and I’m ready to go
*This is a new song I wrote that came together last week. It’s very short, under two minutes.
Found a first draft of these lyrics in a random notebook I had, added chords, then did a second draft.
It’s a simple song, just four chords: A, F, C, G for the verses.
For the chorus same chords, but: F, C, G, A
For the bridge even simpler: G, C
Learned the mixolydian scale recently so the lead part is just the end of that scale imitating the rhythm of the verses.
Hope sharing this process helps someone create a song of their own as well, even if it’s a short easy one like this.
