“Where the Flood Learns to Sing”

“Where the Flood Learns to Sing”
two minds
once arguing in lightning
now curve inward
not surrender
not defeat
but recognition
—
the fire does not burn the ocean
the ocean does not drown the fire
they remember
they were never enemies
just different pronunciations
of the same word
—
a tree grows
where the argument used to be
roots drinking from everything
you tried to escape
branches glowing
with everything
you were afraid to become
—
the floodgates open
but this time
nothing is lost
the water falls
like a blessing
instead of a warning
—
above it all
an eye does not judge
it witnesses
not your mistakes
not your victories
just the moment
you stopped splitting yourself in half
—
and look
even now
your mind
is not fixed
not finished
not “healed”
but holding itself
like hands
cupping a small, impossible light
—
